When do we use the functionality of ‘Snapshot Support’ in Standard ADSO?

Snapshot Support is the functionality in ADSO where when there is a requirement to store the snapshots of the data at a specific period/point in time. Good to use when the historical data is required for auditing, analysis and compliance purpose.

Situations where this Snapshot Support is useful:

  • To preserve historical data and maintain records of data at a specific period of interval.
  • To compare data across various different time periods, and help identifying the trends, deviations and patterns.
  • To perform auditing and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • To create fallback mechanism for data recovery during the case of data loss.

How a snapshot support works:

When we enable the snapshot support setting, a copy of ADSO is being saved as a snapshot during the data loads. They are basically stored as the separate versions of the ADSO data and are usually not overwritten during the loads.

Without affecting the current or active data in ADSO, we can access the snapshot support and perform the analysis.

How Snapshot Support is good:

  • If any accidental loss of data is there, snapshot support prevent it with overwrite facility.
  • It is readily available for reporting and analysis purpose within the same ADSO structure.

With using snapshot support, we can ensure critical historical insights are preserved and easily accessible for various business needs.
